Beside TENAA, there’s another way to find out about new smartphone devices prepared, and this one is GFXBench or any other benchmark test in particular. Today, through GFXBench we get to know that the Chinese company TCL will soon launch a 5.6 inch phablet called TCL P650M, device that will pack a Samsung Exynos 7580 processor.

From what GFXBench tells us, TCL P650M phablet will bring a 5.6 inch display with Full HD resolution, an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7580 processor clocked at 1.6 GHz, a Mali-T760 GPU and 2 GB of RAM memory. There’s 16 GB space of internal storage and a 13-megapixel rear camera with flash and autofocus.

TCL will also offer a 5-megapixel selfie camera on this phone, sensor that can record videos at 1080p. In terms of connectivity we have NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a microUSB port. TCL P650M runs at the moment Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. It remains to see how the device looks like and how much it will cost once announced on the market.

Even if tomorrow on June 1st, the Chinese company OnePlus has an announcement to make, it seems that this one will not be related to the OnePlus 2 phone. Probably, we’ll get be informed that the actual model will get a lower price-tag. Some details about OnePlus 2 are coming straight from the OnePlus company co-founder, Carl Pei.

He said that the new phone won’t be released tomorrow on June 1st, but in the 3rd quarter (July – September). In the same time we get to know that the new phone will be sold through the same invite system as we already had with the OnePlus. However, it seems that this time more and more people will be able to get an invite.

According to Carl Pei, once the OnePlus One phone was launched, the company goals were somewhere around 50.000 to 100.000 phones sold, number that almost passed the 1 million verge at the moment. Apparently, the OnePlus 2 will keep the same low-budget strategy that was a succesful one.

ZTE has been leaky lately, when it comes to its upcoming phones and today we come across a bit of a beast, the Nubia X8 model. It has leaked via the render below, that reveals one of the most bezel-less approaches ever.

Somehow this model feels like it’s even narrower in edges than the Sharp Aquos Crystal models. Luckily we also have some specs associated to this leak. We’re dealing here with a Quad HD device, with a 5.5 inch or 6 inch diagonal, 4 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32 or 64 GB of storage. A microSD card slot and a huge 5120 mAh battery keep things going.

The product weighs 201 grams, which is quite hefty, even for a phablet. At least the waistline is not extreme, at 7.9 mm. Android 5.0 comes preinstalled here, while other features include 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth. Such devices are usually launched out of the blue, not during shows like Computex, so expect an unrelated debut. Word’s out that the Nubia X8 will come in black or gold.

Gionee is expected to launch its next flagshipm Elife E8 in the second week of June. Meanwhile rumors about it are going strong. Recently, we also shared an exclusive live image of the Elife E8.

Now Elife E8 was spotted in a video hands-on, showing the design and confirming the hardware it will pack. The handset was running Google Now Launcher and not the native Amigo 3.0 UI. Even the settings app does resemble the AOSP version.

The Gionee Elife E8 is a 9.6mm thick E-series smartphone with 6” display with 1440x2560 pixel resolution. It has a MediaTek MT6795 SoC with 2GHz octa-core CPU and PowerVR G6200 GPU alongside 3GB of RAM. Sporting 32GB storage, the phone comes with a microSD card slot for further expansion. By default, it will run Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Amigo 3.0 UI.

The rear 23MP snapper can combine several shots and produce images up to 100MP resolution. The smartphone will also offer dual Tone LED flash, lossless zoom, and 4K video recording. Under this camera is a fingerprint sensor, while at the front is a 8MP camera to shoot wide angle selfies. Gionee has packed a 3250 mAh non-removable battery inside.

Hot on the heels of the Android M unveiling, HTC confirmed that One M9 and One M9 Plus will get the new OS version. The good news arrived from Jeff Gordon, HTC's Senior Global Online Communications Manager.

HTC will announce more devices that will get Android M soon. We reckon that the Taiwanese manufacturer’s 2015 smartphone lineup, as well as last year’s HTC One (M8) will all but certainly make the list.

Android M will bring a host of improvements to the platform. They include granular app permissions, custom Chrome tabs, app links, and Android Pay among others.

Earlier today Google announced Android M, the next release of its mobile operating system, which will become available sometime during the third quarter of this year.

Until then, though, the company has released the first developer preview of the new OS version. Just as last year, it's only called "M" for now, with the final naming due to be revealed at a later time.

You can test drive Android M if you own an LG Nexus 5, Motorola Nexus 6, HTC Nexus 9, or Asus Nexus Player. Those are the devices for which preview images are already available for flashing.

Do note however that this is intended for developers to use in improving their apps ahead of the final release of Android M. As this is a preview, bugs are to be expected. Also, the flashing procedure (detailed here) is quite involved, so if you don't have a bit of knowledge in the field you should probably not try this. Finally, understand that flashing the developer preview requires unlocking the bootloader of your device, which erases all the data on it.

Google has planned to release three preview builds. The first one is out now, and the other two should come around one month apart each. The good thing is that those who have a preview build installed will get the new previews via over-the-air updates. There will be two successors of the e-ink display-toting YotaPhone 2 - YotaPhone 3 and YotaPhone 2c. The word arrived from the company’s Managing Director for the Americas.

As expected, YotaPhone 3 will bring updated hardware, including more capable chipset, sharper display, and improved e-ink display. YotaPhone 2c on the other hand, will lack some of the YotaPhone 2 features in order to deliver dual screen goodness to users at a more affordable price.

The release timeframe of YotaPhone 3 and YotaPhone 2c depends on the success of YotaPhone 2, though wireless carriers are reportedly already interested in the duo. YotaPhone 2 arrived in the United States last week via Indiegogo with $500 price tag.

According to a report from Asia, Asus is about introduce a selfie-centric version of the ZenFone 2. Dubbed ZenFone Selfie, the device is expected to debut during Computex, which kicks off next week in Taiwan.

Asus ZenFone Selfie is tipped to pack a 13MP front-facing camera with dual-LED flash, coupled with another 13MP unit on the back. For comparison, Asus ZenFone 2 features a 13MP main camera and a 5MP front-facing snapper.

Specs-wise, the ZenFone Selfie is said to feature a 5.5” display. No further details have been given, though, we suspect, that the device with be powered by an Intel chipset.

In addition to the ZenFone Selfie, Asus is also expected to unveil a couple of ZenPad tablets during Computex. One of them will be a high-end model with 8” 4:3 display and Intel hardware.

The freshly teased Gionee M5 mid-ranger made an appearance in TENAA listing in China. The successor of Gionee Marathon M3 packs an uncommon dual-battery setup.

Specs-wise, Gionee M5 features a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. The latter can be expanded further via microSD card slot.

A 5.5” 720p AMOLED display, 8MP main camera, and 5MP font-facing snapper are also on board. Gionee M5 boots Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Physical measures of Gionee M5 are listed as 152 x 76 x 8.6 mm. With a weight of 213 grams, the device is heavier than a typical 5.5” handset due to its dual-battery setup.

Gionee promises four days of battery life with the M5. The device will reportedly be able to work on only one of its two batteries at a time.

A yet to be unveils HTC WF5w mid-ranger passed through TENAA in China. With TD-LTE connectivity on board, the device is headed to the local carrier giant China Mobile.

The specs of HTC WF5w include 1.5GHz octa-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of expandable storage. A 5.5” 720p display, 13MP main camera, and Android Lollipop are also on board.

With measure of 158.7 x 79.7 x 7.49 mm, the upcoming handset is among the thinnest devices from the Taiwanese manufacturer. HTC WF5w weighs 152 grams.

The smartphone will likely debut under a different name. Considering its specs, we reckon that it will be a member of the Desire family.

Unveiling a new smartphone OS version has become a lot like a sporting event, drawing a lot of attention and seeing people guess at the outcome months before it even happens. The Android M Super Cup is drawing near and some already think they know how it will go down.

We already established that Battery life and RAM usage will supposedly be the stars of the match, not for the first time either.

Now, a new report says that Android M will make it explicitly clear how long a device is supported. Nexus phones will get 2 years of major OS version updates, 3 years of security updates after the OS release or 18 months after you buy one from the Google Store, whichever is longer.

Keep in mind this is just a rumor for now and even if Google does end up announcing these update terms, there are no guarantees things will work as advertised. Also, "M" is rumored to stand for "Macadamia Nut Cookie." Google I/O starts this Thursday and will bring official details.

Xiaomi has started rolling out the new v6.5.50 update for the Mi 4i. The update primarily aims to fix the heating issue that some users have noted.

According to Hugo Barra, "The new thermal controls adjust frequency, voltage and the number of cores in use depending on the chipset temperature. In all of our internal testing and pre-OTA release in the MIUI Forum and beta testers, we've observed that these changes reduce the device overall temperature without impacting performance." Other than that, the update also brings additional bug fixes and optimizations.

This update was previously been released as 6.5.4.0 but that had some power button issue so Xiaomi is now pushing out a newer version that solved that issue.

The update is now available for download and is 40MB in size. You can download the OTA update through the Updater app on your Mi 4i.

I like the front-facing speakers. I’m uncertain about the Intel CPU. Let’s wait to see the AnTuTu score. And the price and availability. (Although with how quickly Asus got the Zenfone 2 available for sale, perhaps they can do likewise after announcing this?)
